Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: WTFs, ROFLs, and some more WTFs
D:
So, some new pictures of 5D's were leaked earlier this morning, and let me tell you, it looks about as stupid and unoriginal and X-TREME as I thought it would be. Mock the premise of a Duel Academia all you want, but the fact of the matter is, that at least it stays true to the formulas set by the old series. This seems to be a mixture of Zoids, Beyblade and Digimon Frontier all clusterf**ked into one unholy package. Oh, and I find the premise of Synchro monsters and the useless changing of terminology absolutely baffling and unnecessary. However, for all of you interested in this new series, I'll provide what info about the characters I've gathered so far considering the blurry-as-hell scans we have currently, so expect more when we get better ones.
Yusei Fudou - Yuya Miyashita (Actor)
Aki Izayo - Ayumi Kinoshita (Actress)
Jack Atlas - Takanori Hoshino (Seiyu/Voice Actor)
Ryua - Ai Horanai (Seiyu/Voice Actor)
Ryuka - Yuka Terasaki (Seiyu/Voice Actor)
So far we have the stoic main protagonist with even more ridiculous hair than the previous two main characters, the set of tits who will serve as useless fodder for the main character, JACK ATLAS the cocky foreign badass no doubt, and the set of annoying twins whose sole purpose in the series will probably be just to declare what move a person made and have 0 screentime. Love how this is apparently set in a futuristic Domino City when GX was supposed to be the futuristic incarnation of the original YGO series. You have to wonder if anybody is even alive anymore. Here's hoping that when this series is over, Konami goes "lawl gotcha" and reverts all this retarded crap back to normal, but that's wishful thinking--extremely wishful thinking--on my part.
Anyway, besides my obvious rant on this tripe, I've also started posting subtitled opening and endings on my Youtube profile. Hopefully I can also get some sample clips for those who want to see how we subtitle the series and whatnot.
So, I thought I'd mention that. As for the translation of GX, I'm still on the filler hell arc. The Tennis duel isn't as bad as I thought it was and the Goblin duel doesn't look all that bad, but I know that Draw episode is going to be a fresh kind of hell for me. I got so bored with the Psycho Shocker duel that I simply stopped timing it and decided to go back to translating it on Word Documents first. (I mean...come on!) But, anyway, if all goes well, I'll be getting to the Seven Stars stuff after the start of March and then I can finally get interested. Oh, and there's always the backlog of current episodes we haven't finished, but I'm not too worried about those just yet.
Oh, I might as well go ahead and mention that the latest GX manga chapter should be done soon. We're in the final lap of editing. Shriek and I still have some stuff to do with it, and cleaning the images of text has been hell for him, so please bear with us, if you all could.
And...I have homework due tomorrow for my Design course...Damn it all.
