It's the Near Future!?
Duel Disks Have Evolved!?

On April 2nd, a totally new Yu-Gi-Oh anime start its run!!
A newly-created anime, one that will weave new Yu-Gi-Oh history, starts this spring!! It's set in Domino City, where Yugi Mutou and the others were once featured, decades later. What kind of drama shall unfold!?

It's set in Domino City in the Future!?
Domino City of the future, where skyscrapers tower over all. High-tech stadiums house dueling tournaments, where state-of-the-art Duel Disks clash!

Riding Duels are What's In!!
In the era of "5D's," speed-packed duels using the latest motorcycle-modeled Duel Disks, the D Wheel, are what's in and have swept spectators into a frenzy of excitement!!

New Monsters Make Their Debuts One After Another!!
The new anime will, of course, have plenty of dueling scenes!! Monsters never seen before will wreck all kinds of havoc! Check and make sure not to miss any powerhouse monsters!

Yusei Fudou
Duel Rider, Driver of the D-Wheel
A rare duelist who drives a red D-Wheel. Has a cool and clever personality and is also quite capable when it comes to dueling!! The story will play out centered around him!!

Yuya Miyashita-san
A up-and-coming, young actor that, besides the drama 14 Year Old Mother, has appeared in several different musicals.
"This is his voice actor!!"

Jack Atlas
Yusei's Rival who Reigns as King!!
The unconditional ruler of Riding Duels. Feared as the "King," his ingenious dueling eliminates all challengers!!

Takanori Hoshino-san
A strong voice actor who started as playing the role of Jumonji in Eyeshield 21 and has appeared in many other anime.
"This is his voice actor!!"

Aki Izayoi
Mysterious Female Duelist
A young girl who displays her supernatural abilities when dueling. She has had a hard time, worrying over how to use her abilities, but since meeting Yusei, she herself has started to change.

Ayumi Kinoshita-san
A young and popular actress, popularly cast as the role of Seteia in Dragon Quest Sword, who has also been active as a voice actor.
"This is her voice actor!!"

Rua & Ruka
Twins who Trifle with Fate...
Though be they young, they are twin duelists who throw themselves into harsh battles, and who are attached to Ryusei. The cool and collected Ruka follows the active yet blundering boy, Rua!

Ai Horanai-san
Has appeared in such shows as Naruto as a voice actor.
"This is his voice actor!"

Yuka Terasaki-san
A multitalented entertainer that has appeared in movies and the role of Basil in the anime Reborn!.
"This is her voice actor!"

Chances are, they will. It shall be like watching Zoids Century Zero and that show about motorcycles I seem to have forgotten at the moment.

So many questions come to mind....

-Why did Yuusei let Pikachu style his hair?

-How does one hold card, slap them onto duel tray slots and steer with your hands in those side things?

-Do those bikes run on electricity or water?

-Why have I yet to friend you? *friends*

Hey there, Cindy. Good to see you.

But, yeah, that same question (playing the actual card) ran through my mind as well. I also wonder how the huge phallic codpiece on the back of the bike wouldn't puncture a hole through your brain if you didn't ride your bike like the lightcycles from Tron.

And, of course, Yusei's hair is that way because he uses gel made out of what powers his bike. Plutonium...

In regards to the cards, it looks like he has a green computer screen, so maybe they load their decks and it all pops up on a touch screen computer?

Or maybe they'll all just grow more arms, like a certain Espada.

Wow, the computer terminal thing would make the whole "strapping a Duel Disk on a bike with an odd tail-end" totally pointless. XD

It'd be like crafting a fake ass and putting it on your back--you wouldn't be able to use it and it'd just look stupid sitting there. (Kudos on the Bleach reference btw. Though, when you first said extra arms, I immediately thought of Kidomaru from Naruto...dunno why...)

Well, this is certainly the beginning of more random insanity that has become second nature to YGO. However wacky the concept may be, I still hold out hope for the writing, and the animation already looks really good. Let's hope that the artists don't get lazy as artists have in so many other anime *coughBleachcough*. But for now, I'll just sit back and watch the anit-climax of GX, and see how the new series plays out.

BTW Horoko, will you be translating the Duel Terminal pages? I'm very interested in how they'll work.

I won't be translating the pages but I can tell you how it works.

It's basically like the Mushi and Dinosaur King games. To sum it up, you insert your coins and select what mode you want. There's a big deal about "ZOMG U CAN TOUCH THE SCREEN *cream*" and they detail two modes (Dunno what "hajimete duel"/"beginner's duel" is as of yet.) There's another "mode" called "Just Get the card" (Card dake Get) which is you just get your card and it goes to the title screen. After you get your card, or whatever, you put it on the scanner and it scans the card into a shitty little 3D image (no, really, it looks pretty damn bad from what I see.)

The two modes they detail are Action Mode ("Ok even if you don't know the OCG"/quote) Says that rhythm plays a major part. There's 4 points of interest. The Action Button (to perform Action, no doubt,) the Level Gauge (shows stars like on a card and you can move a monster that has up that star count and it goes down over time,) the Action Bar (where you can do stuff with attack and defending and Magic and Traps corresponding to what zone you're in and specific card combos make new zones appear, or something,) and Life Points...yeah...

Speed Duel is like regular dueling only the LP are 3000, there's a 10 card deck, 3 Monster & M/T slots, and you get a 3 card hand. So it's like dueling on crack, I guess.

Never been on here before.......but that's besides the point; Horoko, on DMComet, everybody there knows my stance on this crap (painfully), which is that I'm seriously worried that this will be the end of the franchise as we know it; what do you think about this?

I agree with u on how this is the end of the franchise, then again maybe not if they come to their senses lol.I mean to me GX is only good in season 3 and manga,and 5d isnt lookin any better as for ideas.so lets hope for the best

I just hope that this series won't turn from best to worst. I can't even begin to imagine what they're planning turning Yu-Gi-Oh from Egyptian to futuristic
